Social media post mockup
Show a client what the post will actually look like in the feed — before anyone writes a word of it.

What a mockup is for
Describing a post in a document does not work. A client reads "carousel, three slides, benefit-led copy" and pictures something entirely different from what you meant. Show them the post sitting in a feed and the conversation gets shorter by about a week.
It is also the fastest way to catch problems before they cost anything:
- The caption is too long. On Instagram, only the first line or two shows before "more". If your point is in paragraph three, nobody sees it.
- The image has text near the edges. Feeds crop. Anything close to the border may be cut.
- The account name is wrong. Genuinely common, and genuinely embarrassing.
What actually gets seen in the feed
| Platform | Visible before "more" | Best image shape |
|---|---|---|
| About 125 characters | 4:5 portrait | |
| About 125 characters | 1:1 or 4:5 | |
| About 140 characters on mobile | 1.91:1 or 1:1 | |
| X | All of it, up to 280 | 16:9 |
The pattern is the same everywhere: the first line is the whole ad. Everything after it is only read by people the first line already convinced.
Nothing here leaves your browser
The images you choose are read directly by the page using your browser’s file reader. They are never sent to a server, never stored, and disappear when you close the tab. The PNG you download is generated on your own machine.
Common questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The page reads the file locally and draws it in the preview. Nothing is transmitted, stored or logged. You can disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.
Why does my download look slightly different in Safari?
Safari is stricter about how a page can be turned into an image. If the download fails, take a screenshot of the preview instead — it is exactly the same pixels.
Can I use these mockups in a client proposal?
Yes, that is what they are for. They are representations of your own content in a generic feed layout, which is normal practice for presenting social work.
Can I mock up a carousel or a story?
Not yet. This covers single-image feed posts on the four platforms most people need. For a carousel, make one mockup per slide.
Want this checked on your real account?
A tool can only work with the numbers you give it. If you want someone to look at what is actually happening in your ad account, the first conversation is free.
