Fill and crop, or fit inside?
This is the choice people get wrong, and it is the difference between a professional-looking post and an amateur one.
- Fill and crop scales the image until it covers the whole frame, then trims what hangs over. Nothing is distorted, but the edges are cut. This is what you want almost always.
- Fit inside scales until the whole image fits, leaving bars of colour at the sides. Nothing is lost and nothing is distorted, but it looks padded.
- Stretch forces the image into the frame regardless of shape. Faces go wide, circles go oval. There is almost never a good reason.
Never enlarge
Making an image bigger than it was cannot add detail that was never captured. A 400px logo blown up to 1200px will look soft and slightly blurred, no matter what tool you use. Always start from the largest original you have.

Watch the safe area
Platforms crop differently depending on where an image appears. Keep faces, logos and any text away from the outer 10% of the frame, and your image survives every crop it meets.
Common questions
Are my images uploaded?
No. The resizing happens in your browser using a canvas. Nothing leaves your computer.
Why does my resized image look blurry?
Almost always because it was enlarged past the original size. Start from the biggest version you have. If it is already small, no tool can recover the missing detail.
What is the difference between resizing and cropping?
Resizing changes the size and keeps the whole picture. Cropping changes the shape by cutting parts off. Fill and crop does both: it scales, then trims to fit the frame.
Can I resize several images at once?
Not here — this tool works on one image so you can see the crop. For batch work, the image converter takes multiple files and can cap the longest side.
